Arts Foundation of Cape Cod Offers School Bus Funding to Visiting Groups

December 06, 2011
The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is thrilled to announce that they will now be offering bus funding to school groups attending their  sixth annual regional art exhibit Wild Things: A Safari of the Imagination this January at the Cotuit Center for the Arts.

Thanks to a grant from the Edward Bangs Kelley and Elza Kelley Foundation, there are ten stipends of $200 each available to Cape Cod school groups. In order to apply, schools must fill out the Application Document available on the AFCC website and return to the AFCC office at 3 Shootflying Hill Road in Centerville, MA 02632 by Monday December 19. Recipients will be notified by Wednesday, December 22.  The funding is open to all schools attending or planning to attend Wild Things.

The Application for a School Bus Grant is available at www.artsfoundation.org/application_for_school_bus_grant.pdf.

About the Exhibit:
The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, with support from the Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation, the Donald C. McGraw Foundation, and the Cape Cod Melody Tent, will present Wild Things at the Cotuit Center for the Arts for five weeks from January 9 to February 10, 2012.  Keeping younger arts patrons in mind, art work will be displayed at a height of 4 feet throughout the exhibit - right at children's eye level.  A special mini-art library will be made available to all visitors, and the artists themselves will drop in to discuss their works with the students as they tour the exhibit. As always, the visit to Wild Things is accompanied by a hands-on workshop in the Art Barn, where students will create their own piece inspired by the exhibition, which features 57 Cape Cod artists.

The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, the region's designated arts agency, ensures the vibrancy of our cultural community by supporting, promoting, celebrating and strengthening the arts throughout the year.
