Arts Foundation of Cape Cod Presents Third Annual Creative Collaborative Conference
The annual Creative Collaborative, in its third year and hosted by the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, has quickly established itself as a premier event where participants celebrate the arts and exchange insights into the creative process.
This year’s event is Thursday, March 25, from 12:30-8 p.m. at the Cape Codder Resort and Spa in Hyannis. Organizers are promising another opportunity for arts and cultural organizations to receive training, connect with the media and legislative leaders and celebrate the best of arts and culture on the Cape.
The conference will include topical and timely round table and panel discussions lead by many of the arts and cultural leaders on the Cape. The day will culminate in an awards reception honoring community leaders in support of the arts, arts educators, and those who have made a lifetime contribution to the arts.
"The conference highlights successful people and organizations in the creative community on Cape who share their insights and knowledge," said Margaret Van Sciver, president of the Arts Foundation's Board of Directors. "We have a world-class cultural community on Cape and we are justifiably proud of them. It is a privilege to honor and celebrate the individuals who make it all happen."
Visual and performing artists, artisans, cultural organizations, and other creative professionals will present the results of their recent collaborative projects at the regional conference. Featured presenters include publishers and editors of the foremost media outlets on Cape Cod; elected officials from the State of Massachusetts and County of Barnstable; successful arts-based business owners; and local writers, artists and performers.
Four annual awards will be presented by the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod:
• Collaborative Project of the Year – Falmouth Artists Guild
• Arts Educator of the Year – Dennis Springer, Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School
• Community Leadership in Support of the Arts – Senator Robert O’Leary
• Lifetime Achievement Award – Maestro Royston Nash
Registration for the conference and evening reception is $20 for Arts Foundation members, $30 for nonmembers. Reservations for the Awards reception only are $15. Registration and information is available online at www.artsfoundation.org or by calling 508-362-0066.
The Creative Collaborative Conference is presented thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank Charitable Foundation Trust and the Catania Hospitality Group.
