National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Announced Grants

This week the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) announced their direct grants as part of the $50 million federal economic stimulus recovery package. The NEA will distribute $29.775 million to 631 nonprofit arts groups nationwide.  These grants are intended to help create and preserve arts jobs throughout the country by funding arts projects and activities threatened by declines in philanthropic and other support during the current economic downturn.

Unfortunately, the NEA direct grant list does not include ANY Cape Cod organizations including the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod.  Though we are profoundly disappointed that neither the AFCC nor our Cape Cod cultural colleagues will be receiving much-needed funding support, the AFCC expresses their appreciation to Barnstable County's Commissioners for their responsiveness during the application process.  For a complete listing of the recipients of American Recovery and reinvestment Act Direct Grants:  NEA Website
