24th Annual Pops by the Sea is This Sunday!

Tickets for the 24th Annual TD Banknorth Pops by the Sea concert on Sunday, August 2 are on sale now.  Featuring the only Cape Cod appearance of the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, conductor Keith Lockhart, and special celebrity guest conductor Angie Dickinson on the Hyannis Village Green. Proceeds benefit the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod.
 
Purchase your tickets online or at Cape Cod area TD Banknorth branches, Christmas Tree Shops locations, the Puritan Cape Cod in Hyannis, the Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce, and the Cape Cod Mall information desk. 

Festival seats are located immediately behind the VIP tables and each seat has a terrific view of the stage. Festival Tickets are $50. General Admission Lawn Tickets $15 for adults, $20 on the day of the show (if available), $5 for children ages 6-12, Free for children under 5 with each paid adult General Admission Lawn Ticket.

Advance ticket sales are strongly encouraged, as this event has consistently sold out in the past.

Fall for the Arts The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod and Cape Cod View Magazine are delighted to announce that the Second Annual Fall for the Arts Festival will be celebrated on the weekend of October 2-4.
 
Fall for the Arts promotes and celebrates the vibrant arts and culture of Cape Cod. Cape residents and visitors enjoy live music, delicious food and a spectrum of activities at hundreds of venues including museums, galleries, restaurants, libraries and parks.
 
All fifteen Cape towns are invited to participate and showcase the unique artistic flavor and flair of their community.

Members of the Cape's creative community are encouraged to get involved with the Festival and take advantage of the rewarding opportunities available to Fall for the Arts participants. Pops by the Sea Commissioned Artwork to be Auctioned

The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is pleased to announce that Harbor Song, the original painting by Pops by the Sea 2009 commissioned artist Donald Beal, is on display in the lobby of the Centerville Branch of TD Banknorth

Mr. Beal's exquisite work will be auctioned at a special reception on Saturday, August 1, 2009, and proceeds from the sale will support the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod. Limited edition prints of the work will be available during the TD Banknorth Pops by the Sea concert, Sunday, August 2nd on the Hyannis Village Green.

Recent paintings by Cape Cod artist Orfeo Fabbri will be on display at  Abling Gallery from July 31 - August 6, with an opening reception on Friday, July 31 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm.  

Fabbri was awarded first place in oil/acrylics in the All Cape Cod Juried Exhibit by the Cape Cod Art Association in May of this year. Fabbri uses saturated colors to capture the mood of his subjects. His use of the palette knife allows him to create bold colors and textures.

Hollywood Icons at Harmon Gallery

Daniel Maffia An exhibition of recent works by Daniel Maffia, Hollywood Icons, will be presented at the Harmon Gallery. The show opens with a reception on Saturday, August 1 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm and will run from August 1 - 21.

Daniel's work appeared on the covers of Time, Newsweek, Esquire and other well-known publications. His oil paintings have been exhibited in galleries in Paris, New York and throughout the US.

The exhibition at the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, Search For the Real: Hans Hofmann and His Students, brings together more than thirty drawings by several of Provincetown's most celebrated contemporary artists.
