Fall for the Arts The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod and Cape Cod View Magazine are delighted to announce that the Second Annual Fall for the Arts Festival will be celebrated on the weekend of October 2-4.

Fall for the Arts promotes and celebrates the vibrant arts and culture of Cape Cod. Cape residents and visitors enjoy live music, delicious food and a spectrum of activities at hundreds of venues including museums, galleries, restaurants, libraries and parks.

All fifteen Cape towns are invited to participate and showcase the unique artistic flavor and flair of their community.

Members of the Cape's creative community are encouraged to get involved with the Festival and take advantage of the rewarding opportunities available to Fall for the Arts participants.

New Exhibit at Guyer Art Barn Features Artist Mellissa Morris

Mellissa Morris Mellissa Morris will be featured in a solo exhibit, Nesting, at the Guyer Barn. The exhibit runs August 14 - 23, with an artist reception on Friday, August 14 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm. Nesting is the result of a yearlong exploration in light, space, time, shape, and color. After investigating birds and nests in their environments and reading extensively on how birds build their nests and where, Mellissa Morris built her own nests in her studio.

The exhibition at the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, Search For the Real: Hans Hofmann and His Students, brings together more than thirty drawings by several of Provincetown's most celebrated contemporary artists. This exhibition features fifteen drawings by renowned Abstract Expressionist Hans Hofmann. Twenty prefatory drawings by notable Hofmann students will also be on view.

Staged Reading of The Guys

Art WeekCotuit Center for the Arts is offering Art Week for ages 7-10 from August 24-28. The art camp meets daily from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm and includes entertainment during the lunch hour. Students may register for full or half days. Students are invited to explore the worlds of fine art, music, and theater as they create under the instruction of area artists and performers. As class size is limited, advance registration is required.

Call to Artists for any which way at Guyer Art Barn

any which way Side to side, long and narrow, several together for a grouping - calling all established, emerging and want-to-be artists to participate in any which way, an eclectic exhibition at Guyer Barn, September 19 - October 12. Artists use one or several 12" x 6" panels to create any which way their heart desires in any media. Panels may be picked up in Growth Management Department, Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm and at the Guyer Barn on Tuesday evenings, 6:00 - 9:00 pm. Also at Guyer Barn, Fridays - Sundays, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm.

  • Cotuit Center for the Arts will hold open auditions for Joy Unbounded: A Gilbert & Sullivan Jubilee, an original staged piece featuring the music of Gilbert & Sullivan, conceived and directed by Laura Gardner. Auditions will be held on August 29 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, August 30 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm and September 2 at 7:00 pm. Auditions will be held at the arts center located at 4404 Falmouth Road (Route 28), Cotuit. Casting is available for 12 singers; all vocal ranges. Those who audition will be asked to sing a prepared Gilbert & Sullivan piece that showcases their capacity and are asked to bring their own sheet music. Music director Geraldine Boles will accompany all singers. Production dates are slated for the last 2 weekends in November. CraftFest Cotuit - Cotuit's 39th Annual Arts & Crafts Festival

CraftFestThe Village Green in Cotuit will be home to more than 100 regional artisans and craftsmen on Friday, August 14, 10:00 am - 5:0 pm and Saturday, August 15, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. Organized by Cotuit Federated Church, the festival enters its 39th year with a new name and expanded to two days.

Little Beach Gallery Expands and Adds a Working Artist Studio

Little Beach GalleryThe Little Beach Gallery, an innovative art gallery featuring a mix of beach-inspired work including photography, paintings and hand-crated pieces from 18 local artists, announces its recent expansion and addition of working artist studio on location. The new addition to The Little Beach Gallery also includes an additional display room allowing for more space for events and artwork.

In collaboration with talented local artist, Meaghann Kenney of Breakdown Lane, Kenney will be working out of the artist studio.
