of Cape Cod. Cape residents and visitors enjoy live music, delicious
food and a spectrum of activities at hundreds of venues, including
museums, galleries, restaurants, libraries and parks.
All fifteen Cape towns are participating and showcasing the unique artistic flavor and flair of their communities.

Staged Reading of The Guys
The Woods Hole Theater Company presents a staged reading of The Guys by Anne Nelson, performed by Diane Quaid and Cleo Zani, directed by Lisa Smith. Performances are August 20-22 at 8:00 pm at the Woods Hole Community Hall.
The Guys is a post 9/11 play about a fire captain who comes to see a writer about writing eulogies for his lost men, but it transcends that particular moment of history.

Lydia Warren at Aselton Park

U.S. Air Force Wind Ensemble in Concert at Highfield Hall
The New England Winds, a performing ensemble of the United States Air Force Band of Liberty based at Hanscom Air Force Base, will be in concert on August 25 at 7:00 pm at Highfield Hall. The concert, including popular, Broadway, patriotic, jazz and folk music, is tailored to audiences of all ages and promises to be an entertaining combination of musical excellence and showmanship. Book Signing: Major New Novel by Local Author Peter Canova
Meet the author, Peter Canova, for a book launch and signing of Pope Annalisa at the Cotuit Center for the Arts on Saturday, August 22 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. At 2:00 pm there will be a short video shown in the theater with commentary by the author. The event is free and open to the public. In Pope Annalisa, Peter explores an ancient spiritual tradition, which cut across not only Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, but also the so-called pagan mystery schools of ancient days.

The Poets' Corner Open Mic Night Featuring Nancy K. Pearson
Nancy K. Pearson is the featured poet at The Poets' Corner Open Mic Night, hosted by Joe Gouveia and Barry Hellman, at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod on August 27 at 7:00 pm. Nancy K. Pearson's first book of poems, Two Minutes of Light, won the 2009 L.L. Winship/ PEN New England Award and was a finalist for a Lambda Literary Award. Lee Boynton Oil Painting Workshop at CCAA
 Cape Cod Art Association is pleased to present a workshop with Lee Boynton on August 22 - 23 from 9:30 am - 3:30 pm. Lee uses a palette of colors that corresponds to the natural spectrum of light, which he feels increases the artist's ability to depict the subtle nuances in nature. He is the founder and president of the Mid Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association, and has received top awards for his watercolor and oil paintings. Auditions
- Cotuit Center for the Arts will hold open auditions for Joy Unbounded: A Gilbert & Sullivan Jubilee, an original staged piece featuring the music of Gilbert & Sullivan, conceived and directed by Laura Gardner. Auditions will be held on August 29 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, August 30 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm and September 2 at 7:00 pm. Auditions will be held at the arts center located at 4404 Falmouth Road (Route 28), Cotuit. Casting is available for 12 singers; all vocal ranges. Those who audition will be asked to sing a prepared Gilbert & Sullivan piece that showcases their capacity and are asked to bring their own sheet music. Music director Geraldine Boles will accompany all singers. Production dates are slated for the last 2 weekends in November. offered at the Cape Cod Museum of Art's 22nd Annual Art Auction. Absentee bids will be accepted. The auction, CCMA's
major fundraiser of the year, is on Saturday, August 29 from 5:30 - 9:00 pm.

The Wings of Freedom Tour at Barnstable Municipal Airport
The Wings of Freedom Tour, brought to the Cape by the Collings Foundation, will be on display at Griffin Aviation Services at Barnstable Municipal Airport from September 16 - 18. Hours of ground tours and display are 2:00 - 5:00 pm on Wednesday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on Thursday, and 9:00 am - noon on Friday.
The airplanes included in this living history tour are the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress "Nine O Nine" WWII Heavy Bomber, Consolidated B-24 Liberator "Witchcraft" WWII Heavy Bomber, and P-51 Mustang.

Little Beach Gallery Expands and Adds a Working Artist Studio
The Little Beach Gallery, an innovative art gallery featuring a mix of beach-inspired work including photography, paintings and hand-crated pieces from 18 local artists, announces its recent expansion and addition of working artist studio on location. The new addition to The Little Beach Gallery also includes an additional display room allowing for more space for events and artwork.
In collaboration with talented local artist, Meaghann Kenney of Breakdown Lane, Kenney will be working out of the artist studio.
