Jackie Reeves-Art Show

Jackie Reeves will exhibit her new large scale figurative paintings at the Guyer Barn in July with an artist reception on the 23rd from 7-9pm. In these recent works the artist achieves a rich and complex imagery with a deft combination of drawing, painting and collage. Multiple figures twine and weave through these compositions, sensuous and evocative, with apparent allusions to the stages and rituals of womanhood. Washes and glazes enhance the images of overlapping and integrated figures. In many of these, it is uncertain whether a group is made of many persons or an individual is subsumed by the whole. Throughout all of them, the viewer is treated to an intriguing and rewarding visual experience.
