CELEBRATE THE START OF THE JOURNAL PROJECT! Open Studio Week – September 11th – 16th The Cape Cod Art Association presents The Journal Project with Lenore Lyons of Explore Art! Honor the art and words inside of us all. Writing today is so temporary – it evaporates into cyberspace. The Journal Project invites community members to preserve their thoughts, ideas, family stories and musings in a visual journal. Be part of the project. Tell your story. Visit us during Open Studio Week, September 11th – 16th and enjoy free projects and activities: Saturday, Sept 11th, 11am-3pm Hear about the Good Cause Journal student philanthropy project. Make a miniature journal. Write a good fortune to someone else. At 2pm will be a visual presentation of the Good Cause Journal Project. Sunday, Sept 12th, 11am-2pm Hear about The Journal Project and how to be part of it. Learn to make miniature star books. Write a good fortune to someone else. Monday, Sept13th, 2pm-5pm Discover the techniques of Altering paper, both messy and not-so-messy ways. Come hear about the new and expanded children’s program! Tuesday, Sept 14th, 10am-1pm & 5pm-7:30pm Create a basic Sewn book with a doodad. Learn about our new adult classes, and different types of journals. Wednesday, Sept 15th, 10am-2pm Learn about our new homeschoolers programs. Write a good fortune for someone else. Make your own mini journal. Thursday, Sept 16th, 9am-12pm Learn how your educational or community group can be part of The Journal Project. Make a Good Cause Journal. Write a good fortune to someone else. The mission of Explore Art! is to inspire people to interact, be creative with art and writing, and to have fun. Classes begin the week of September 20th and are offered for people of all ages to enjoy art and experiential learning. The Cape Cod Art Association is located at 3480 Route 6A, Barnstable, MA, 02630. It is open seven days a week, Mondays through Saturdays 9:00-4:00, and Sundays 12:00-4:00.
