In 2010 the Thornton W. Burgess Society is celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the publication of Burgess' first important children's book, "Old Mother West Wind." The first of special centennial exhibits is "Burgess Birds," which details Burgess' impact on migratory bird protection using original illustrations by Harrison Cady and mounted specimens. The public is invited to the opening reception on January 9 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. This exhibit is funded in part by a grant from the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod.
