 ENTRANCE GUIDELINES: The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod (AFCC) is seeking entries for the Seventh Annual Cape-wide Comcast Art Scholarship T-Shirt Design Competition. The winner will have his or her original art featured on the T-shirts worn by the volunteers and sold at the premier cultural event on Cape Cod, the 25th Anniversary POPS BY THE SEA concert, featuring the Boston Pops and Keith Lockhart. |
This competition is open to all 5th through 12th grade students living on Cape Cod.
AWARDS:
| 1st Place: | Winner will receive $500.00; Winner's school art department will receive $500.00; Winner's artwork used on T-shirts worn by volunteers & sold at the concert, Sunday, August 1, 2010; Winner's artwork, photograph and profile in the 2010 Program Book |
| 2nd Place: | Winner will receive $250.00; Winner's school art department will receive $250.00 |
| 3rd Place: | Winner will receive $100.00; Winner's school art department will receive $100.00 |
All entrants are eligible to win awards and each entrant will receive two Adult General Admission Lawn Tickets to the concert, Sunday, August 1, 2010.
TO ENTER:
Submit signed original artwork on paper, with the image size no larger than 8 1/2" x 11". Colors should be intense, four to five strong colors for optimum results on fabric. Please include the text Pops by the Sea 2010 as an integral part of the artwork and design. Subject matter must reflect the theme of people enjoying music by the sea.
Original, computer generated graphic art will be also be accepted. NO COPYWRITED MATERIAL OR ANY DESIGNS UTILIZING CORPORATE LOGOS WILL BE CONSIDERED. Please include your personal information on the form provided. The reviewing committee WILL ONLY consider entrants that include this information. Only one entry is permitted per student.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: Friday, April 30, 2010 ~ 5 PM
All entries must be accompanied by this form and must be received by Friday, April 30, 2010 (this is not a postmark deadline). Applications may be mailed to the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, 3 Shootflying Hill Road, Centerville, MA 02632, or delivered to the office and handed to a member of the AFCC staff before 5:00 PM. We are located in the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce complex at the junction of Routes 6 and 132; the entrance is on Shootflying Hill Road and the Arts Foundation office is located in the rear of the complex. Winners will be determined and the entrants notified by Wednesday, May 12, 2010. All decisions of the reviewing committee are final. Judges for this contest include artists, civic, educational and community leaders. An exhibition of the finalists work and a reception in their honor will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Cape Cod Academy in Osterville, MA.
If the submission is to be returned, a self-addressed, stamped envelope must be provided or arrangements made to pick it up by Wednesday, June 30, 2010. All images in possession of the AFCC after Wednesday, June 30, 2010 will become the property of the AFCC. The AFCC will use due care in storing and transporting the images; however, all entrants, by their participation in this contest, will be deemed to expressly discharge, release and hold harmless the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, its employees and agents, of and from any and all manners of actions, suits, damages or claims whatsoever in law or equity, from any loss or damage, including any consequential damages, to the entrants property while in the possession, supervision or in any way under the auspices of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod.
