Jack translates seemingly minor everyday occurrences into striking moments in time. He paints what he feels, in his own way, starting with a general idea and developing a “feeling” about a place or person that gradually evolves. Jack’s paintings are not the typical fare, but rather a moving reminder of our amazing surroundings in nature.

He work has been recognized with numerous awards during his creative life, and has been published in many magazines, newspapers and catalogs. He shows regularly in the Northeast, and has paintings hang in individual and corporate collections in 22 states. He was the recipient of a generous grant from the Ford Foundation.

Jack is a graduated honors from Rhode Island School of Design, and a two and a half year post graduate program at Allgemeine Gewerbeschule (Basel College of Art) in Basel, Switzerland.

Jack has studied with American Photographer Harry Callahan, Swiss artists Armin Hoffman, Kurt Hauert and Peter Von Arx, Joseph Albers’ associate Sewell Sillman, and Amercian artist/illustrator Fred Freeman. He lives with his tromp l’oeil artist wife on Cape Cod, and they both paint every day in their gallery in Brewster.
