Our Mission

HJT is Cape Cod’s premiere family theater, dedicated to bringing the finest quality live theater to children, young people, and their families. Now in its 54th season, HJT is recognized as one of the nation’s leading playhouses for audiences of all ages. HJT also offers a full curriculum of classes taught by theater professionals. The Winter Company, HJT’s resident adult company, produces shows for the entire family from September – June.

Our History

Thanks to the inspiration of Betty Bobp, a renowned leader in theatre education, the theatre was founded at Harwich Center’s famed Exchange Hall in 1952 when the curtain went up with a production of Cinderella. With the efforts of literally hundreds of volunteers and a dedicated professional staff. HJT has grown to become one of the country’s most widely respected playhouses for young audiences. $20 adults ($22 for musicals); $15 under 21 years of age
