Our Mission

Sarah Jane Thornington is a photographer of life… She loves to capture all the moments from the ordinary, to the once in a lifetime events, with style and grace. Sarah believes that life is not an event to be missed, and uses her photography to preserve both wonderful memories and times, and the people who enrich our own personal journeys…

Photography combines emotions and history, and Sarah is blessed that she is able to be the documentarian of both…

Our History

Sarah worked with the previous owner, Bill Clarke, after graduating from Hallmark Institute of Photography in 1986, for nearly 10 years… Along with her husband, Ray, she purchased the studio in 2001 and christened it The Studio by the Sea.

The building has been a photography studio since 1957, housing 4 previous photographers, and Sarah loves continuing the tradition.

Our Services and Programs

We are a portrait studio, photographing families, children and high school seniors at the beach, on location, or here at our studio. Sarah will photograph a limited number of weddings each year. We also photograph business portraits and pre-schools.

Fees Charged

Prices are estimates, only ranges of what you should expect to pay:
Family/Children Portraits starting range $375.-$1500.
High School Seniors average $100.-$475.
Weddings begin at $3200.
Business portraits from $100.
