Home grown Cape Cod girl, vocalist Cerise is quickly making a name for herself on the Cape music scene. Living in Bay Area California for many years, Cerise studied voice under Oakland’s Raz Kennedy. She began her career singing back-up vocals for the popular Marin County Soul group, The James Mosley Band. Quickly, Cerise was given the opportunity to sing lead vocal for the World Music band Africombo. The band focused on performing original Caribbean, Latin, Afro-Cuban, and Reggae music. Returning to her hometown of Orleans Cerise linked up with the well known and respected Bob Hayes (jazz pianist) to form The Bob Hayes Band featuring Cerise.
The Bob Hayes Band featuring Cerise is a jazz ensemble that is is known for performing with true master craftsmen such as, Kenny Wenzel, Marshall Wood, Laird Boles, and Gray Sargent. In the past, The Bob Hayes Band has been fortunate to play regularly with the late great Dick Johnson, Lou Colombo, and Eddie Higgins. Now, The Bob Hayes Band is proud to feature Cerise! The unique style, quality, and vocal ability of this young woman is not to be missed! Although often liken to Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn, Cerise’s versatility allows her to captivate the audience with a romantic ballad and swing right into a moving Latin tune where she sings in perfect Spanish. The Bob Hayes Band featuring Cerise specializes in songs from The Great American Song Book, but also performs in many different styles which include: Swing, R&B, Latin, Pop, Rock, and Blues.

Bob Hayes (jazz piano) of The Bob Hayes Band, has been playing music on Cape Cod since the early 1950’s. He is the oldest active club date musician. He has played with artists such as, Bob Hope, Robert Goulet, The Chordettes, and Bobby Hackett. Nejazz.com said of Bob, “…Bob Hayes is a master at his craft, and there’s definitely a Dave McKenna influence in that left hand.” In a span of 63 years Bob has worked at every conceivable night club, yacht club, country club, town event, special event, private party, and concert, from Woods Hole to The Moors in P-town.
Kareem Sanjaghi (jazz drummer) studied and played along side Cape Cod’s famed trumpeter Lou Colombo for over ten years. Kareem is a fantastic and versatile drummer who attributes much of his knowledge and skill to the late Lou Colombo, his close friend and mentor. Kareem played his first gig at 13 years old with his grandfather/teacher Bob Hayes and Lou Colombo. Legendary singer Tony Orlando called him “One of the best talents I have ever heard.”

The Band works with many of Cape Cod’s well recognized and talented musician (the likes of which are listed above) adding pieces as needed for the venue/event/private party which include: bass, guitar, violin, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, flute and saxophone.
The band is available for private parties, dinner music, concerts, special events, and weddings.
