Our History

Cape Cod Art Association, founded in 1948 at Hyannis, Ma., is a nonprofit organization consisting of Artist and Associate members. Its purpose is to promote an appreciation of fine art on Cape Cod and to foster an understanding relationship between the workers in the arts and the community.

Our Services and Programs

MEMBERSHIP
One may become an Associate Member at any time of the year. Those wishing to become Artist members must submit a portfolio of five pieces of their recent works to a review board which meets every other month for this purpose.
EXHIBITIONS
There are seven exhibitions for artist members during the year and four that are juried for entry and open to all area artists. An Instructor?ǨѢs Exhibition and a Student?ǨѢs Exhibition help to fill out the yearly schedule.
CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS
Classes in oil painting, watermedia, pastel painting, photography and drawing are held year-round. Instructors are art school graduates with class enrollments that attest to the respect they have earned for their teaching abilities.
THE LOFT GALLERY
Our loft is set aside for Artist members who may display up to four pieces of their work at a time for sale in that area. Works are priced under $300.
PRINTS
Artist members may sell reproduction prints of their work from the print racks found in the reception area.
