Cultgeist; UK Worldwide Projects
AFRICA
We need to find people that would want to work with us all over Africa, but specifically in Nigeria, Kenya, Cameroon, Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire.
1) Music / Photography / Film / Art: We are putting together a TV show, radio show and live music event for 2008 to celebrate greatness in African talent. We are looking for people on ground who are making things happen.
2) Inspiration & Social Issues: We are also looking to commission short documentaries to explore what inspires young people in Africa and get a deeper understanding of what the main social issues are. We will be working with a brand that is looking to develop educational programs in underprivileged places.
CULT-GUIDE
We are creating a worldwide CULT-GUIDE - a book of all of the stuff that we think is cool in each city. We're looking for people around the world to contribute: Artists (music & art), clubs, promoters, festivals, parties, etc. Everyone that participates will get a copy. We'll use this guide to hook people up with each other and as a tool to get new projects. Send us stuff if you are interested.
Our Friend’s Projects
SOUTH AMERICA
Call for submissions from South American artists living in London and Europe SudakaFest will show the most cutting edge work in South American film, arts and music. They are aiming to break with lots of clichés associated with South American culture and show London and Europe the best of film, music and visual arts. Sudaka Fest will be entirely curated by a small group of South American artists from a variety of backgrounds.
The first Sudaka festival will take place in April and you can still send submissions, especially of visual art or installations and live music. Details of the venue, sponsors and partners are to follow in the next two weeks on request.
SPECIAL COMMISSION
They are also calling for submissions of original work in any format inspired in the shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes at Stockwell tube station in July 2005. Send your proposals and examples of previous work to the above address or email.
