Writing About Your Work with Alyson Stanfield

You need a small library of language you can pull from for your website, applications, exhibition materials, and the everyday conversations around your art. This session focuses on the writing that carries the most weight: your artist statement and bio, plus the shorter pieces (About page copy, captions, labels) that show up everywhere and shape how people perceive your work before they meet you.

You’ll leave with a clear framework for writing an artist statement and bio, a path for finishing each after the session, and language and structural tools you can apply to any writing about your work.

Preparation: Alyson will send the Word Bank exercise to all registered attendees ahead of time. Please complete it before the session. This is part one of a two-part series. Part two, Speaking About Your Work, follows on February 17.

Wednesday, February 10, 2027, 5:30 to 7 PM on Zoom. Free for Arts Foundation members, $15 for non-members.
